TAKING U BACK:

With the Dipest Reunion into play and the recent death of Huddy Combs (RIP), its only right that we take U back to Diplomatic Immunity, the debut album by The Diplomats, released on March 25, 2003 on Rocafella Records. The Diplomats, also popularly known as Dipset, are a Harlem-based hip hop group founded by Cam'ron and Jim Jones in 1997. The original members of the group were Cam'ron, Freekey Zekey, and Jim Jones ; who all grew up together in Harlem. Juelz Santana would later be added to the group in 2000.

After the release of group leader Cam'ron's third album, Come Home With Me, the quartet teamed up to release their first collaborative effort. The album features the lead single "Dipset Anthem", "I Really Mean It", "Ground Zero", and "Bout It Bout It...Part III" (featuring Master P). In addition to Master P, the album features appearances from Monique Chandler, Shaniqua Williams, Toya, Freeway, and DMX. The album also features Diplomat rapper Hell Rell, who was incarcerated at the time of the album's release.

The double-disc album was a success and quickly became certified gold by RIAA under two months after its release. This album is what Mase meant when he said Harlem World. If U never been to Harlem, all U have to do is pop this cd in the player.

ARTIST SPOTLIGHT: Tity Boi

In 1997 Tity Boi formed the group Playaz Circle with childhood friend Dolla Boy in College Park, GA. They were introduced to Ludacris by Lil Fate and soon became good friends as they all shared the same dream. Tity Boi (Tauheed Epps) played basketball at ASU (Alabama State University) in Montgomery, Alabama.

Unfortunately, Playaz Circle ran into bad luck. Tity Boi was shot and Dolla Boy incarcerated. Their career was at a standstill. After hearing their misfortune, Ludacris reached out and then signed them. Since then they have put out two successful albums, and now Tity Boi is making noise on his own.

With the release of several mixtapes Tity (2 Chains) is becoming an ATL solo force to be reckon with. In true Deeply Rooted Fashion we have his latest mixtape: Trap-A-Veli 2 (The Residue) for Listen & Download (below). Also check out a few solo videos from Mr. 2 Chains.

Some new images of the Nike Air Max CB34 in a Black/Club Purple-Team Orange-Black colorway have arrived. Though Charles doesn’t rock tennis shoes anymore, these were his shoes of choice when he battled it out on the court. The shoes pair a black upper over a leather and nubuck construction. While white is the secondary color, purple is also used throughout the design. Down below we have a full length Air Unit that sits between the mostly white sole. Taking U back to Doggystyle, the debut album by Snoop Dogg released November 23, 1993 on Death Row Records. The album was recorded soon following the release of Dr. Dre's landmark debut album The Chronic, to which Snoop Dogg contributed significantly. His musical stylizations for the album share similarity to those featured on Doggystyle. Critics have praised Snoop Dogg for the lyrical "realism" he delivers on the album and for his distinctive vocal flow.

Doggystyle has earned recognition from many music critics as one of the most significant albums of the 1990s, as well as one of the most important hip hop albums ever released. Much like The Chronic, the distinctive sounds of Doggystyle helped introduce the hip hop style of G-funk to a mainstream audience, bringing forward West Coast hip hop as a dominant force in the early 1990s.While recording Doggystyle with Dr. Dre in August 1993, Snoop Dogg was arrested in connection with the death of Phillip Woldermarian, a member of a rival gang who was shot and killed in a gang fight. This incident didnt stop the success of the album with it selling 802,858 copies in its first week alone. Today, Doggystyle is viewed by many critics and fans as a "hip hop classic" and is included in The Source magazine's list of the 100 Best Rap Albums, as well as Rolling Stone magazine's list of Essential Recordings of the 90s. About.com placed the album in #19 of the greatest hip hop/rap albums of all time.
